Mandaikadu Temple Festival Starts with “Kodiyettu” Ceremony in Tamil Nadu

Thousands of devotees gathered on Sunday to witness the ‘Kodiyettu’ (flag hoisting ceremony) at the renowned Mandaikadu Bhagavathy Amman temple, marking the beginning of the 10-day ‘Koda’ festival in Kanniyakumari district’s coastal town. Temple tantri Edakkode Sankaranarayana Iyer initiated the rituals in the morning, amidst the chanting of “Amme Saranam, Devi Saranam.” Notable attendees included Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, former Kerala minister V S Sivakumar, Member of Parliament Vijay Vasanth, MLA J G Prince, District Collector P N Sridhar, and District police chief E Sundaravathanam.
