Mega Pulse Polio Drive Begins in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam’s health department launched a big pulse polio drive on Sunday, targeting all children under age 5 in the district. With over 1,000 polio booths, 74 mobile units, and a team of 4,200 vaccinators and supervisors, the campaign aims to reach every child. District collector A. Mallikarjuna stressed the importance of vaccination in safeguarding young lives. The initiative also includes transit booths at key locations like bus stands, railway stations, and airports for mobile parents’ convenience. District Immunization Officer S. Jeevana Rani and other officials attended the inaugural ceremony.
