Karnataka Bans Drinking Water for Car Washing, Gardening; ₹5000 Fine Imposed

Amidst a severe water crisis, the Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board banned the use of drinking water for car washing, gardening, construction, water fountains, and road maintenance, imposing a fine of ₹5000 for violations. Additionally, the Bengaluru city district administration fixed the price of tanker water following allegations of extortion by tanker owners, with Bengaluru City District Collector KA Dayanand issuing a circular based on the recommendations of a technical committee.
