In New Delhi, the Supreme Court’s five-judge Constitution bench dismissed the State Bank of India’s request for a time extension and directed the bank to provide details of electoral bonds to the Election Commission by the end of business hours on March 12th. Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, heading the bench, also instructed the EC to publish the shared details on its official website by 5 pm on March 15th. This decision came after senior advocate Harish Salve, representing SBI, cited the need for additional time to gather and match information stored in different branches.
