Sri Lankan Navy Arrests 22 Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Fishermen; Seizes 3 Boats

Sri Lankan Navy arrests 22 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line, seizing three boats. Among those arrested, 13 are from Mayiladuthurai, with two each from Nagapattinam and Pudukkottai, and one each from Ramanathapuram, Cuddalore, and Chennai, along with two from Karaikal. The arrests prompted a fishing activity halt in Jegathapattinam, with seven fishermen detained from Pudukkottai, Mayiladuthurai, Ramanathapuram, and Chennai, while another group of 15 fishermen from Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, and Karaikal were apprehended southeast of Point Calimere. The Sri Lankan Navy transferred the arrested fishermen to the Sri Lankan fisheries department.
