INDIA parties stage protest in Mumbai, Denounce Kejriwal’s arrest as ‘illegal’ and ‘unjustified’

Opposition parties in Mumbai staged a protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, labeling the Enforcement Directorate’s action as ‘illegal’ and ‘unjustified’. The demonstration, held at Azad Maidan, included a ‘satyagraha’ and a call for the BJP’s defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The coalition, comprising over two dozen parties under the banner of INDIA, vowed to continue their united struggle against the Modi government’s ‘tyranny’. Political leaders from various parties, including Varsha Gaikwad of Congress, Preeti Sharma-Menon of AAP, and others, joined the protest. Sharma-Menon highlighted the disruption caused by the arrests of former Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, emphasizing the impact on education and healthcare. She asserted that Kejriwal’s arrest has energized the masses, framing it as a battle between the people and Narendra Modi’s government. The opposition pledged to unite against the BJP and end Modi’s rule, vowing to safeguard the country and its Constitution.
