CBSE Introduces New Exam Pattern for Classes 11th and 12th in Upcoming Academic Year

In a recent announcement, CBSE Director of Education, Joseph Emanuel, revealed significant changes to the examination pattern for classes 11 and 12 starting from the academic year 2024-25. These modifications include the incorporation of skill-based questions aimed at assessing the practical application of concepts in real-life scenarios. Notably, the proportion of syllabus-based and integrated single-question items has been increased from 40% to 50%, while the short and long questions has been reduced from 40% to 30%. This strategic adjustment underscores the Board’s overarching initiative to cultivate an educational environment that prioritizes critical thinking, creativity, and systemic understanding over mere memorization. Furthermore, the Board reaffirms its commitment to aligning assessment and evaluation methodologies with the objectives outlined in the new academic policy, thereby facilitating a more holistic learning experience for students in the upcoming academic session of 2024-2025.
