The postal voting process for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Chennai started today and goes until April 13th, 2024. A team of 67 people, split into groups of four, will give ballot papers to people aged 85 and above, explain the process, and collect completed ballots and forms. After that, the ballot boxes will go to returning officers. Additionally, the Election Commission of India arranged for people above 85 and those with physical challenges to vote from home. In Chennai’s three constituencies, there are 75,120 eligible voters: 63,751 are over 85, and 11,369 are physically challenged. They filled out Ballot Form 12D from March 17th to 25th. Later, 4,175 people over 85 and 363 physically challenged individuals opted for postal voting. The election commission has everything set for postal voting.
