Telangana CM Summoned for Questioning in Doctored Video Case; Political Tensions Rise

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was summoned by Delhi Police on May 1st for questioning regarding a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech circulating on social media. This development follows the first arrest in Assam in connection with the case. The Congress has warned of similar actions against BJP leaders in Congress-ruled states, while the BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against the Congress, alleging the circulation of a “deep fake and morphed” video of Shah to disrupt the poll process. Notices were issued to five members of the Telangana Congress, including Chief Minister Reddy, who posted the video on social media platforms.
