Amid Heat Wave, Voting Window Extended by 1 Hour as Polling Preparations Are Finalized

Mahabubnagar’s Collector and Returning Officer for the Lok Sabha elections, Ravi Gugulothu, announced the completion of all preparations, including Randomization Of EVMs and polling arrangements, following Election Commission guidelines. He ensured readiness for ballot papers, candidate finalization, and personnel training, with measures in place to address heat wave conditions and provide necessary facilities like fans, lights, water, shade, and separate toilets. Voting hours have been extended from 7 am to 6 pm due to the heat, and steps have been taken to resolve family split issues at polling booths through door-to-door verification. Enhanced security measures are in place at critical booths, and home voting is facilitated through 23 teams, accompanied by officials and videographers. All 17 seats in Telangana will have voting in a single phase on May 13th, during the fourth phase of polling.
