Heat Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Worker in Chennai

The heatwave in Tamil Nadu claimed its first fatality in Chennai this summer when 25-year-old construction laborer Sachin from Uttar Pradesh succumbed to heatstroke in Kancheepuram. Despite being rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, another construction worker near Minjur bypass was admitted to RGGGH for heatstroke treatment after being stabilized at a private hospital. As temperatures soared, Karur Paramathi hit 43.8 degrees Celsius, significantly above normal, while Erode reached 43.4 degrees Celsius despite heavy summer showers the previous night.
