H.D. Revanna Granted Bail in Alleged Abduction Case; Son Prajwal Faces Absconding Allegations

Former Karnataka minister H.D. Revanna, son of ex-prime minister H.D. Deve Gowda, was granted bail by a Special Court in Bengaluru on Monday in an alleged abduction case of a woman. The 66-year-old JD(S) MLA was arrested by the Special Investigation Team on May 4th and was in police custody until May 8th. The court ordered him to furnish a bail bond of ₹5 lakh. The case stems from a complaint by the woman’s son, alleging sexual abuse by Revanna’s son Prajwal. Prajwal, an MP and NDA candidate, reportedly left the country on April 27th after skipping SIT summons. The SIT was formed following explicit videos allegedly involving Prajwal circulating on social media, prompted by a letter from the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
