Tamil Nadu Designates Approved Centers for Yellow Fever Vaccination

Following the Union Health Ministry’s mandate, the Tamil Nadu Health Department has designated three approved centers in the state for yellow fever vaccination. Two centers are in Chennai, and one is in Thoothukudi. Travelers must receive the vaccine at least 10 days before their journey and obtain certification monitored at airports and seaports. Registration is required with original passport and medical details. The International Vaccination Centre at the King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research in Guindy offers vaccinations on Tuesdays and Fridays, with online booking available. Latecomers may receive vaccines based on availability, with a fee of ₹300 payable online or in cash. The Port Health Organisation in Thoothukudi provides vaccinations on Tuesdays, with bookings and payment in cash. The Health Department stressed that these are the only approved centers in Tamil Nadu for yellow fever vaccination, urging travelers to Africa and South America to use these centers exclusively.
