INDIA Bloc Meeting Scheduled on June 1st at CM Stalin’s Request Despite Potential Deferrals

The June 1st meeting of the INDIA bloc was timed at the behest of DMK President and Chief Minister MK Stalin, who resisted meeting during the 7-phase parliamentary election concluding on the same day. Stalin, along with other leaders, advised meeting later to capitalize on favorable momentum from the second phase and focus on regional poll efforts. DMK sources revealed that the meeting could have been deferred to June 2nd if Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal secured bail in the Delhi liquor policy case. However, with the Supreme Court denying an urgent hearing, the June 1st meeting will proceed without West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who is likely to abstain due to state polls and a looming cyclone threat.
