Tight Security Measures in Place for Tamil Nadu’s Lok Sabha Vote Counting

Tamil Nadu gears up for the Lok Sabha vote counting with stringent security measures, employing three layers of protection at counting centers. Approximately 40,000 police officials, including 3,000 in Chennai alone, are stationed at these centers, with an additional 60,000 officers patrolling statewide. Over one lakh police personnel and 15 paramilitary companies are involved in security operations. The Lok Sabha elections, conducted in seven phases from April 19th to June 1st, included 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry, all voting in the initial phase on April 19th.
