Sasikala Vows Action as AIADMK Falters in Lok Sabha Polls

After AIADMK’s poor performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, there’s a growing call to unite the party. Sasikala, a close aide of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, urged an end to internal conflicts, stressing the need to honor the party’s legacy. Several constituencies, including Chennai South and Kanniyakumari, saw defeats for AIADMK candidates, including D Jayakumar’s son, J Jayavardhan. Party leader S Semmalai acknowledged the core vote bank but emphasized the importance of correcting course for future elections. Former MP KC Palanisamy criticized party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami for the party’s decline, urging the leadership to prioritize unity to restore past glory.
