Rahul Gandhi to Visit Wayanad on June 12th, UDF Postpones Protest March

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Wayanad, Kerala, on June 12th after his significant victory in the Lok Sabha elections, where he defeated CPI candidate Annie Raja by 3,64,422 votes. There is speculation that he might give up the Wayanad seat to keep Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. The United Democratic Front (UDF) has postponed its protest march to the state Assembly, planned for the same day, due to Gandhi’s visit. This march was in response to allegations against the Pinarayi Vijayan government regarding changes to the state liquor policy. UDF Convenor M M Hassan said the march and a scheduled meeting would be rescheduled so UDF leaders can attend events related to Gandhi’s visit.
