Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam Steps Down Amid Money Laundering Case, Resigns from Cabinet and CLP Leader Role

Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam, currently in jail over a money laundering case, has resigned from the state cabinet and as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), according to an official statement on Tuesday. Alam submitted his resignation as a cabinet minister to Chief Minister Champai Soren from Birsa Munda Central Jail, Ranchi, and also sent a letter to AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, stepping down from his role as CLP leader in Jharkhand.
