Modi Retains Key Ministers, Allocates Portfolios in New Government Lineup

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signaled continuity by retaining key ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar, in their previous roles, maintaining stability in high-profile ministries like Home, Defence, Finance, and External Affairs respectively. Among the new entrants, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been assigned Agriculture and Rural Development, while BJP president J P Nadda returns to the Health Ministry. The allocation of portfolios, directed by President Droupadi Murmu, spans 72 members of the Union Council of Ministers, emphasizing strategic ministries and continuity in government policies and programs.
