CM Inaugurates Sholingur Temple Ropeway Today

Chief Minister MK Stalin will virtually inaugurate the new ropeway at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Sholinghur on Friday, fulfilling a ten-year dream for devotees. The project, costing ₹8.34 crore, includes additional facilities funded by philanthropists. This upgrade aims to ease the challenging climb of 1,305 steps and reduce reliance on 70 doli carriers. The ropeway, with charges to be announced, promises faster access, accommodating 400 devotees initially. While it offers convenience, it also raises concerns about the livelihoods of doli carriers, prompting calls for alternative jobs. Additionally, former legislator C Gopal advocates for promoting the nearby Anjaneya temple, accessible after climbing 603 steps, by constructing a bridge.
