Army Chief Highlights Role of Veterans in Indigenous Defence Manufacturing at AWPO Summit

Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande stated that an effective defence-industry ecosystem is emerging in India, emphasizing the importance of incorporating veterans with field experience into indigenous research and manufacturing for the force’s technological needs. Speaking at the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) Summit 2024 in New Delhi’s Manekshaw Centre, he reiterated the Army’s commitment to its veterans, calling it a “sacred commitment.” The summit aimed to bridge the gap between enterprise requirements, veteran competencies, and the objectives of AWPO by bringing various stakeholders together.
